Google Chrome’s Fast Version Numbers

imageIt’s been a fascinating ascension for the version control of Google’s Chrome. It was only two years ago [basically] that Google released their own browser.

So, basically in two years Chrome has gone from beta to v6. That’s actually pretty impressive in the world of program development and version control. If you look at Firefox or Internet Explorer these browsers are putting along in regards to versions. Firefox isn’t even version 4 yet and Internet Explorer is working on the release of version 9.

Why the race for Google to climb so fast?

What’s the importance?

Windows Live Writer Wave 4: Go Open Source – Please

xpakj5u3Microsoft has been less than giving in the world of blogging. And I was less than optimistic earlier this year when the screenshots of Windows Live Writer – wave 4 were ‘leaked’.

And today, I saw this post from Digital Inspiration and it confirmed my fears.

Microsoft hasn’t done anything to Windows Live Writer to make it any better. They’ve made it more cumbersome, and they’ve added the ribbon interface [which I hate] to ‘enhance’ the GUI.

From the post, there’s a screenshots of the new Windows Live Writer – Wave 4.

REDBOX Video Rental vs Brick and Mortar

uh02vqenI had resisted for a while in even trying the Redbox option, but I kept seeing the coupon/codes for a free video rental once a week. It’s pretty damn hard to pass up a free movie a week.

So I dove in last week to give it a shot and so far it’s okay; it’s not great, but it’s okay. The thing they have done great is the communication and the interface. The signup [for me] was via the Internet. I logged on, put in my info and I was ready to go in about 5 minutes.

It’s really easy.

LEHSYS Report – November 2009

November TurkeyNovember was a big month in the terms of traffic. It was a disappointing month in terms of performance of adverts.

I can’t say that I was too happy with the advert providers and it may not be their fault, but when you look at the traffic being up and adverts performance being lower that the last 2 months…

It’s disappointing…

Download: Firefox Add-on – AutoPager

autopager icon

Firefox is an Internet browser that keeps it’s popularity by it’s extensibility and every once in a while you find one of the those extensions/add-ons that need to be integrated in to the browser itself.

How many times have you been browsing the web, searching through page after page, hitting NEXT for the next page, over and over?

Here’s the solution for that…

Lack of Filtering Options for Twitter – is a reason for leaving it.

Twitter CautionThe only reason you wouldn’t know about Twitter is if you live in a hole somewhere or had your head in the sand.

Twitter is everywhere. TV, blogs, corporate websites and i’ve actually seen it on business cards.

It’s popularity is huge right now and while it can informative, helpful and social, there’s always the spammers and bottom feeders that find ways to misuse the service and spark a mass exodus of the service.

iPhone customers have nothing but complaints about AT&T’s service

image AT&T and Time Warner cable have a lot in common; they love putting the screws to their customer base.

AT&T has been very popular with the iPhone, but the problem with popularity is that people become accustomed to a level of service and when the provider starts nickel and dime in the individual on services that they believe should be standard, feathers are going to get ruffled.

It’s no secret that the customers of AT&T’s iPhone have been slowly coming to a boil, but I think AT&T has found itself on the edge of a precipice. They’re going to have to start thinking about changes. Changes to the service plan and how they treat their customer base.

Time Warner Cable: Your Customers think you SUCK!

imageIt’s the best thing to hit the internet since email, or the Pamela Anderson videos…  [smile]

Time Warner Cable has screwed up so badly on their decisions to not only impose caps on monthly bandwidth [and charges], but they have actually blundered the implementation SO BAD, it’s sparked a call for government oversight!

It’s amazing what’ll happen if you piss enough people off; or if your abilities to make decisions are over shadowed by the fact you lack synaptic action to take the tin foil off the pop tart before you eat it.
