How To Uninstall Windows Live Writer

Uninstall Windows Live Writer I’m not saying that I need to, or that it’s an issue, but in the case that you decide you’re going to move to something more elaborate, or if you just need to be able to completely reinstall Windows Live Writer, I collected enough information here to attempt to help out the average Windows Live Writer [desperate user].

I’m not stating that you can’t go to the the Windows Live Writer support forum and look it up, but this is more for general purpose and personal use; it’s also more than you’re going to get ‘stock’ from the support team from Microsoft.

Topics of the Week for July 16th

imageThis week in technology has been pretty interesting Google continues its world domination of the smartphone with the android platform. it continues to flex its muscles in its appeal to the public, placing tons of pressure on the iPhone and Microsoft keep generating strong competition.

Apple concedes that ‘we’re not perfect.’… Try to shut down the critics with forum censoring. Ultimately giving up and doing what they should’ve done in the first place, provided the free cases for the iPhone 4.

And for Microsoft, Steve Ballmer comes out and says that Microsoft is hard-core about tablet computers- nobody cares.

Tech Obituary: Microsoft KIN Falls Dead On The Market

imageJune 30th, Microsoft announced that the their latest release, KIN, had a main stream market coronary. Only 2 months ago the youngling was released to the market; to the wild. The young device just wasn’t able to survive.

I found a bit of entertainment; I was seeing commercials for Microsoft KIN on TV and radio spots- knowing that Microsoft had decided to pull the KIN from the market only 2 months after releasing it to the wild.

At this point, it’s common knowledge that Microsoft is failing/falling in the smartphone market. It’s almost a given that if the new Windows 7 mobile operating system doesn’t have a killer application/use when it releases- it’s not going anywhere.

Adventure: Installing Windows 7 on Dell M60

ibavfjwv

Older systems don’t often like new operating systems, but there are exceptions. My experience with my Dell M60 was less than glamorous, but I was finally able to get Windows 7 installed.

My installation was bumpy because there’s an issue with Microsoft installation/upgrade process. And while I do like hording information sometimes, this time I decided to share because there wasn’t enough information out there that was direct enough.

If there’s an error during installation, Microsoft Windows doesn’t recover well; to be specific it has a bug, it’s totally lacking in intelligence and it’s not possible right now to get out of it.

The Future: Microsoft’s Windows vs Google’s Android

eiabsrmaThe battle for Operating System supremacy in the world of tomorrow; that’s the thought running through my head.  I can’t help, but think about the position Apple has placed themselves in.

Apple came out of the shadows with the iPhone and every other ‘i’ device they can think of and most recently the iPad. But obviously the biggest mistake they made was restricting themselves to the AT&T market; there’s not much to be proud of there. And while the iPhone is a great device, the service reflected badly on the device and customers don’t care who’s at fault, they just want it to work.

Google has been working in the background developing Android. And the first release of Android, it’s been gaining more speed and support, and adoption.

Review: Ubuntu 10.04 Simply Impressive Release

sm4afqmlUbuntu 10.04 has been released and the final release version of Ubuntu is impressive; more than I think I’ve ever seen. I can’t think of another time I’ve been more impressed with a release of Ubuntu; or any other Operating System for that matter.

The distribution of Ubuntu is still 700mb; which staggers the mind in regards to what you get straight out of the box installation.

No other Operating System provides the features and performance that Ubuntu does, in such a small distribution. Microsoft and Apple can’t compare the effectiveness and performance of this release. I eagerly await more reviews and responses of this release…

The Previous Week In Interesting – 04/24/2010

I’m trying something new here. I’m trying stories that I’ve read throughout week, that I thought were interesting and sharing them with you.

So, everyone finds different things interesting- these were mine; Apple still acting like a jerk, McAfee is re-enforcing it’s position as a technology moron and Microsoft continues to slowly tighten the hatch on old Windows XP users.

Yes- read more…

Microsoft Outlook Steals Performance

outlook stealsI’m not going to argue the point that Microsoft Outlook is a very popular email client, and it’s the most used, and desired, function of Microsoft Office, but I think at what cost are we using it?

Microsoft Office/Outlook 2007 is not my email client of choice, but I’ve to use it at work. Every job/office I know of uses Microsoft Outlook for their email clients and typically the machines Microsoft Outlook was loaded on was not a supreme machine.

So how’s this really productive? It’s not.
