Microsoft Windows Live Writer solution problemAin’t this just confusing as hell…

I’ve been dropping by the support forums for Windows Live Writer for months now. People have questions, need help on Windows Live Writer or blogging in general; I attempt to help them, but I was doing a search to day and I found that Microsoft actually has to official forums for Windows Live Writer.

What Microsoft has is the Windows Live Writer forum that’s been there forever, since the time of the betas [the first beta]. And then you’ve the NEW Windows Live Writer forum [called writer threads].

Using Windows Internet Explorer Causes Deformities

5ov50bnuDuring the day, I’m a mild mannered corporate worker, dealing with the corporate world and a corporate IT departments rules, restrictions and security practices. And during my daily grind, I’m forced to use an inferior web browser because someone, on some level, some where in the corporate structure says that Internet Explorer is more secure than Firefox, or Chrome, or Safari, or even Opera.

I’ve to use Internet Explorer at work and it makes me so nervous and frustrated.

Internet Explorer is the bane of the Internet and it’s a security risk in every sense of the word, if not more. I’m here to show that Internet Explorer causes deformities.

Windows 7: Microsoft Continues their SPYING practices

xophvuiiMicrosoft posted a disturbing article…

Does everyone remember that wonderful time in the last 10 years as Microsoft continued to muck with everyone’s machines with WGA; interrogating and SPYING on peoples machines to see if they were ‘genuine’?

How long is it going to before DROID is going to get Dragon NaturallySpeaking?

VirtualBox just keeps getting better

virtualboxI found VirtualBox back in March and it’s been just awesome. Version 3.0.10 has been released; I was notified via the automatic updater [yea! I love those things].

If your an IT Administrator/Consultant or just a ‘Curious Jobe’, your going to find yourself loving virtual box. It’s like playing the house with firecrackers, but the house is made of [well] everything fireproof.

I mean seriously, who likes living not knowing how everything works and what it takes to get to this, or that point- not me.

Impressions: Working with Ubuntu 9.10

Ubuntu you 910I loaded the latest version of Ubuntu the other day to my DELL M60 laptop; it’s about 5 years old and it was really struggling with life as a laptop with Windows. I had issues with power, issues with hibernation and issues with staying connected with my wireless router.

I was incurring all these problems and I figured, what the hell, what do I’ve to lose? If I screw it completely up, I’ll just reload Windows and go back to shoveling muck around; just like I was doing before.
