Composing: Spelling, Grammar and More

mbr3lsorThree years ago, I started using a program to help me deal with text I was typing repetitively. That’s when I actually started getting more into what helpers were out there in the composition of documents and emails.

It’s important to save time to get other things done, and if you’re not constantly examining what you’re doing, to find out what’s taking all your time, you’re going to fall behind the curve. You have to be able to find the problem areas and make adjustments To improve.

But this process is getting so much easier by the day. There’s so many tools and applications out there right now that can help users on the projects of composing papers, documents, emails, suggesting better phrases and many more…

nkqstrfcBeing a person on the go and being able to have all your information where you can get to it, even when you don’t have an Internet connection, is really useful.

I make it a point to keep a jumpdrive with me at all times and to have my information and system tools/utilities close by.

I recently found a nice gem of a program; it seems to be well laid out for the average user.

Personal Information Manager: MyNotesKeeper

MyNotesKeeper 10292009As your going about your daily life, there’s lots of thing you wish you had to keep track of it all and this was my problem about 4 years ago and then I found MyNotesKeeper. I posted an article about it last year, but it’s getting better, the author has been [within the last few months] actively pushing updates and new features.

One of the things I really like about MyNotesKeeper is the responses from the author; you don’t get it much with other developers, but with MyNotesKeeper he’s been listening to his users and adding the small thing they’re requesting. It really puts a polish on a great program.

Why I’m not going Blue-Ray DVD for PC

image It’s common knowledge that blue-ray is the largest DVD size we have right now and the amount of data we can place on those disc are 10x better than a traditional DVD, but I ask why? And I answer with because I don’t need to [and you don’t need to].

It was only a few years ago, they [Sony, Panasonic, Philips, Samsung, Pioneer, Sharp and LG] were shoving Blue-Ray in our face as the new DVD standard; and it is now, but at the same time the manufactures continued to refine the technology, to be able to get more information on to the same disc.

Linux is Throwing Big Body Shots at Windows

image The long standing architecture of have or using a PC is that you’ve a Operating System on a disc. The Operating System is loaded on to a PC hard drive from the disc and then once loaded you run the Operating System from a system hard drive; that’s the old way.

While Linux is mainstream with tech nerds, it’s not uber popular with the general populous. The hardware or software is not there yet, but maybe cause it’s not hitting the angles of traditional Operating System are.

The beauty of Linux is there’s so many flavors, but still the same Operating System. You can have a new desktop and desktop GUI, but it’s still the same kernel [Operating System engine].

The Operating System can be changed to fit just about any need. If you know exactly what you’ve you don’t have to search for drivers anymore.

ISO Backups = Happiness…

The process of getting new devices and toys to play with on your computer are always so fun. You get a neat little device with a driver disc; you load the driver disc, install the drivers and then plug in your new toy and wha-la!

But alas, what’s to become of your driver disc? I mean the device is loaded, what do you do with the disc? Will you need it again? Probably. Will you be able to find it? Probably not. Or can you find it and it was used a dogs chew toy because you didn’t put it back in it’s case and take care of it…

I offer this little snippet of potential future joy. Read more…
