These are some items that I notice, like to keep an eye on and also to notate any new programs/software that could be useful.

Some of the items I’ve this time are SlimBrowser for a nice skim/interface to Internet Explorer [if you must use it], FileZilla an excellent FTP server application, Video application for just about all your video playing needs and ThinVNC; a completely web-based remote desktop application.

If your using Windows Live Writer, and you copy and paste images [for like taking screenshots], you may be unaware that Windows Live Writer is doing you a disservice by not using an optimized image. Or by not offering a choice when posting images.
When images are pasted in to Windows Live Writer the program inserts them as a PNG file. PNG’s are not as compressed as JPG and therefore resulting in larger images, more storage requirements and more bandwidth; resulting in a slower website.

Mozilla Thunderbird 3 [shredder] is still in Beta. I download the beta yesterday and I just am not impressed with anything they’re pumping out. They’re making a lot of corrections and the bugs they’ve corrected is extensive, but where’s the functionality?
A lot of users are loyal to Thunderbird and 3 years ago it was the cats meow, but since the Thunderbird Spin-off release it’s been a slow boat for these guys.
I think what’s worse is that there’s other developers that have taken the original open-source project and made their own flavor and made it better.
