Adobe has been on my crap list for a while. Adobe Flash is unbearably slow, it drags my performance of my PC down to crawl. I ensure my PC is updated on a regular basis and I apply the patches when they release them, but all it ever seems to do is get worse.
I’ve a plug-in for Firefox that monitors web pages for changes; one of those pages is Adobe Flash 64-bit. I’ve my page updater tell me when certain pages gets updates. The other day I got a notice that the page had been updated- I very excited; did something happen?
No. Yes- kinda.

One of the things I find entertaining about the world of the smartphone is the fact it’s a complete reinvention of the wheel.
The more I watch the tech trends and the more NEW releases on technology, the more I realize that people are just going ‘ga-ga’ over the same crap they had before- just smaller.
And they’re NOT phones, they’re small computers; they’ve a small function that allows you to make calls, but they’re just small computers.
And they’re like technology Crack…

Today Google changed their main search page. That’s not to clarify I don’t like it or it’s repulsive, but I think it’s not in the past standing of what Google search is about.
Google search page is about down and dirty, quick, easy and results. And while the last one, results, isn’t going to change, loading the image isn’t what most people are expecting from Google [for a search page].
The fascinating part is that it’s driven to the Google Picasa service they offer. You can upload your own photos or simply go through the pre-selected rotation, but it seems Google is pushing Google Picasa [their own service].
I know it makes sense, but…

I find myself asking questions about the actions and thought processes of Apple lately…
I’ve to wonder with some of the decisions that Apple is making right now; are they doing the right thing? Are they playing a hard right stance to attempt to push technology the way THEY think the future should be? And just because they’ve so many iPhone customers right now; is that enough to sway the smartphone market to go the way they want it to?
I don’t know, but I hope this works out in their favor […] otherwise they’re going to be right back in the toilet, with their closed door attitude to their software and their hardware products.
And that didn’t help them very much in the past either…

Everyone has pointless entry and clicking tasks that they have to do on a regular basis; whether it be for work or at home you can associate with this statement.
The point to using scripting to remove or reduce that crap for you, make the computer do what you want it to do. I think AutoHotKey embodies that spirit fairly well.
This is what I mean..

This article is based on my complete disgust for the way TV programming works right now.
For the last twenty years, the Internet has been moving and growing; it’s morphed so many times and now it’s almost like it’s omnipresent. It’s an expected service of just about every device you’ve and it’s not the most used information outlet; Television is still the most viewed/used.
It’s unquestionable that the picture quality of TV has gotten better, but the same basic programming, how that content is presented to us, hasn’t changed.
Your still provided with a ‘guide’. Whether it was a TV guide or an electronic guide of what was on. It’s current state is horrible…

I understand the concept of wanting to protect your product and self-preservation, but where’s the adherement to web standards? Why can’t you just understand there are standards and everything needs to work through a browser.
And because a person chooses to use a browser other than Internet Explorer they should not suffer a penalty.

One of the first things your going to need with Ubuntu 9.10 is FLASH player. I’m still not real happy with Ubuntu and Adobe on this mess; it’s just stupid.
How in the world is a new person to Ubuntu to understand half the gibberish crap about terminal commands, the tweaks to get the FLASH player installed?
While the Ubuntu forums are swarmed with them… this is what I did, it worked and it was painless in comparison to going to Adobe’s website to install the latest .DEB.
