LEHSYS Side Notes…- The fight to save Windows Live WriterThe bumbling dance moves Microsoft makes in their existence is just astounding... When Windows Live Writer was released, I'm sure it was meant as a complement to the blogging service that Microsoft was planning to offer to its users/members, in the form of Windows Live Spaces. Overall, Microsoft has a real problem with project concept and follow through […]
- Use Google Drive to sync blog posts with Windows Live Writer 2011I believe everyone has the same issue with Windows Live Writer; it's sync'ing the blog posts, recent and drafts to some place that can be sync'd across machines. Well, now that Google has released Google Drive you can now use Google drive to sync your data with them; beating Microsoft to the punch on their own service [postulating]… What you n […]
- Wow. There was an update to Windows Live Writer 2011…I was surprised to see there was an update to Windows Live Writer before Windows 8 came out. Honestly, I'm not able to even fathom why they did this, but only to find out if there's any bugs in it from the Windows Live Essentials team. The previous version of Windows Live Writer was v15.4.3538.513 the new version is 15.4.3555.308. In the grand sche […]

Movie review: This Means War [just great.]
Posted on February 19, 2012 | No CommentsAs with many other people, I went out this weekend to grab a movie and dinner. I chose to go to the new This Means War movie. It had a few people in it that normally make a good movie; Reese Witherspoon and Chris Pine— there was another actor I’m not so familiar with, Tom Hardy, but I recently saw him in another movie, Warrior that wasn’t that bad— but this cast of characters brought the movie together for me.Throughout the movie there’s point that are obvious to come, but still this movie is all about getting there… The movie is 90+ minutes and it’s rated PG13. -
Review: Journey 2: The Mysterious Island [Nope.]
Posted on February 10, 2012 | 2 CommentsWhen you have young children, you know; you just have to accept that there’s going to be things that you don’t want to do and there’s going to be movies that you don’t want to see. Because my son is only six years old he’s attracted to all the traditional kid shows and movies that are coming out, and even though I have the ability to determine if movies are going to be good or not, I still have to bite the bullet for the sake of my son and go see certain kid movies. Journey 2: The Mysterious Island is one of those movies that you can tell from the advertisements and the trailers that it was going to be just one of those ‘cheesy’ kids movies, but I didn’t really think it would be worse than the first one; I was wrong. It’s a PG movie [standard and 3D] and a solid 98 minutes of boredom I will never get back… -
Movie Review: Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon
Posted on July 11, 2011 | 3 CommentsThe last [according to Shia]/latest Transformers movie was released and it’s going over like gang busters. The absence of Megan Fox didn’t even make a dent in sales, but I wasn’t surprised; she can’t act anyway. It’s all about the transforming robots and the explosions [that only Michael Bay can do]. The latest Transformers just seems to get it all wrong and right, at the same time. The most destructive part of this movie is the script and the director. For those fans of the Transformers legacy, the last two films are nothing more than crap built on the Hollywood garbage machine. They take a great series, huge back story and then start picking and twisting and skewing the whole thing in to some stupid love story; it’s not even funny. The whole basis behind the Transformers is Autobots vs. Decepticons [good vs. evil]; it’s never been about humans– maybe about protecting them, but not directly about them. -
Movie Review: Green Lantern (2011)
Posted on June 19, 2011 | 2 CommentsThis weekend I went to go see the Green Lantern movie and it’s something I wanted to do because I like Ryan Reynolds; he’s a outstanding actor and has a lot of potential to do some great action movies. But his calling from Hollywood is to be a box office love toy with comical romances. I’m not able to say that Green Lantern was about a super hero though. Hollywood took a great actor and a great back story and turned it in to another one of those love stories about how a young man is irresponsible, becomes aware of his faults and then has to face his demons. For all practical purposes, Reynolds could’ve been, for all the special CGI this movie has, placed in an rundown Office Depot and had basically the same result. -
Movie Review: X-Men: First Class [A Must See]
Posted on June 3, 2011 | 2 CommentsI’m a big fan of the xmen series and when there’s a xmen movie coming, you can bet I’m going to be sitting in the seat in the theater at some point. And I don’t have any problem with a studio or Hollywood putting efforts in to reboot a series like the X-Men. The X-Men: First class is a reboot prequel to everything you’ve already seen. It’s an origins for X-Men and with everything I’ve seen from the Internet everythinks this version of X-Men is awsome. It goes way back to the turn of the 19th century and builds on how the mutants started to mix with the human race. It was great to see X-Men going through the paces, explaining so many things; but not too many. I’ve also seeing where X-Men: First Class is the reboot to Marvel as the Dark Knight was to DC and Batman. Or if I was comparing it to Thor, X-Men: First Class doesn’t beat them. And this isn’t a kid only show… this isn’t a movie you purchase for your kids to watch when you’re not around. This movie has a dark tone, and it has some matching language earning the PG13... -
Movie Review: THOR – [Go see it]
Posted on May 9, 2011 | No CommentsLike many others this past weekend, I went to go see Thor in the theaters. I was very pleased with the movie; I felt I got my monies worth from it. And my be interesting to note that after reading Thor was not shot in 3D, I made the decision to see it in 2D [I have other opinions on 3D movies]. The movies is only in part, building to the Avengers movie that’ll be released May 4th of 2012. Which I believe will be a massive draw to the movie goers as well. I don’t see how it can’t; there’s never been another movie like it. Unless they decide to do a Justice League… [wow]. As with all the other Hollywood movies, with the comic book heroes that have been around for YEARS, they go in to character building and the back ground of Thor; where did he come from, who is he and why… -
Coming 2012: TRON: Uprising – Animated Series
Posted on March 7, 2011 | No CommentsIf you have read my site before, you know I’m a big TRON fan, and when the movie came out it was met with sharp criticism, but the fact is the movie really has restated a complete make over for Disney and helped jumpstart the digital movies and what they can be for the movie industry. They have taken the TRON legacy, the built-in fan base and breathed NEW life in to the TRON franchise with a new upcoming series called TRON: Uprising. And this is exactly what I was discussing before. Between the 1982 movie and the release in 2010, there’s SO MUCH ground to cover and so many stories that can be created; this should be fascinating. -

Why NOW is the wrong time to buy a 3D TV
Posted on January 24, 2011 | 2 CommentsIt’s not ready yet. I’m so surprised at the efforts of the TV hardware makers and Hollywood to sell the public something that just isn’t ready. And the theaters must be furious! One of the last things that theaters have to offer is the glamor of that 3D moment in a theater; wearing the geeky glasses and hearing all the ‘oooos’ and ‘ahhhhs!’ during the movie, and yet here’s every TV maker going ga-ga over 3D, and now every movie released since Avatar has to be in 3D— its disgusting. The problem is the technology; it’s not there yet. But this isn’t stopping them from flying off the shelves and people clamoring to get the NEW stuff from the techie world. -
Why I’m not getting an iPad or a tablet PC, right now
Posted on January 24, 2011 | 3 CommentsI am amused by the race of Apple and Android to produce a touchpad portable media device. The constant defending of the iPad to the masses from Apple why is does or doesn’t do that. Or the constant bickering that Android is inferior because it’s not an apple product; it’s funny to listen to when you don’t really care. And I don’t care… I simply have no interest in buying a tablet PC of any kind right now. The media is surely pushing these tablets as the next ‘big’ thing, but I don’t see them as anything more than another netbook. The fact that the tablets; you have to touch them to do something— is that enough to wow people in to buying it? But beyond touching it to do everything, what else is there? What else is there that’s worth making that purchase? -
Can Google’s influence kill h.264?
Posted on January 14, 2011 | No CommentsIn a surprising move that would be more reminiscent of something that Microsoft or Apple would do, Google has decided to remove the support for the h.264 video format. h.264 has been the Internet standard for video for the past couple of years; a large majority of newer digital cameras record directly to this format. it’s surprising because when you’ve got a standard like h.264, something majority established itself as the video standard for the Internet, to simply come along and yank the rug right out from under it, without due reasoning or argument, it’s a big surprise. Surprising to everyone. But even more surprising is that Google is dropping the video format h.264 in favor of a video format that Google considers ‘open’ and should be the new Internet standard.; WebM Codec. -
Review: TRON Legacy [Outstanding]
Posted on December 18, 2010 | 1 CommentAs anyone knows, from reading my blog over the past couple of months knows; I love TRON. And Friday my love affair with a 28 year old movie was rekindled with the release of the sequel TRON Legacy. I do realize that reviews on TRON Legacy , from the early reviewers have been less than stellar, but on the same token, the original TRON was not received well either. For all practical purposes it was a complete flop for Disney, but yet here we’re again… with another TRON. So, with everyone wanting to have a voice about their take on TRON Legacy, I’ve mine. I believe it’s no less important than any other who would offer their words of cult edict. The hype over the TRON Legacy movie have been absolutely through the roof on this one. You could cut the tension with a spoon, but now that the movie is released, let’s discuss what it really was… outstanding. -
Windows Live Movie Maker 2011 Has Limits
Posted on December 8, 2010 | 17 CommentsWindows Live dev team has placed a lot of effort in to the release of the Windows Live suite of applications and there’s been a few milestones crushed and some, not so much. I did a review of Windows Live Movie Maker a little while back and my initial review was based on what Windows Live Movie Maker improvements were… Since then I have been emailed over and over by people that say I so off base with that review and all the things I missed… Initially, my apologies; the version of Windows Live Movie Maker I was running for my review was doing fairly well— seriously! It was, but as people started to point things out and the more I tested their points; they were right… So, here I’m stating, ‘your right, I didn’t do enough testing…’ -
Review: Faster [DVD Worthy]
Posted on December 6, 2010 | No CommentsWhen I went out this weekend to try to catch a quick movie, there’s those times you think to yourself, “I just want some dumb action and explosions to calm my nerves”; I had one of those moments… I settled on going to see Faster. I had seen the previews and I know what Dwayne Johnson had done in previous movies and figured it’d be a safe movie to go watch. Again, I’ve seen other ‘ROCK’ movies and thought they’re okay; the Rundown is one of my more enjoyable movies from Mr. Johnson, but he really shouldn’t let his muscles get in the way of his talent. Action movies work for him, and this really should be his type of movie; anything other than the Tooth Fairy… I did all this on the spur of the moment and didn’t even bother reading any reviews… I should have.
