LEHSYS Side Notes…- The fight to save Windows Live WriterThe bumbling dance moves Microsoft makes in their existence is just astounding... When Windows Live Writer was released, I'm sure it was meant as a complement to the blogging service that Microsoft was planning to offer to its users/members, in the form of Windows Live Spaces. Overall, Microsoft has a real problem with project concept and follow through […]
- Use Google Drive to sync blog posts with Windows Live Writer 2011I believe everyone has the same issue with Windows Live Writer; it's sync'ing the blog posts, recent and drafts to some place that can be sync'd across machines. Well, now that Google has released Google Drive you can now use Google drive to sync your data with them; beating Microsoft to the punch on their own service [postulating]… What you n […]
- Wow. There was an update to Windows Live Writer 2011…I was surprised to see there was an update to Windows Live Writer before Windows 8 came out. Honestly, I'm not able to even fathom why they did this, but only to find out if there's any bugs in it from the Windows Live Essentials team. The previous version of Windows Live Writer was v15.4.3538.513 the new version is 15.4.3555.308. In the grand sche […]

Random application: ASSAULTER
Posted on November 10, 2011 | 1 CommentThis is just a random review and video of an app that was listed in AppBrain for Android. From time to time I’ll drop in to AppBrain and see what the random top application of the day is, just to see what’s trending. For this post, I’ve got a application called Assaulter. It’s an 80′s style game with fast action and explosions. The game play is linear; it’s not FPS or anything and reminds me of the old games like Pitfall and Mario Brothers [just with lots of weapons]. You can get in to the game really quick and start playing— there’s very little delay there. I have created a video to show the installation and game play of the application. -
Adobe Ceases Development of Mobile Version of Flash
Posted on November 9, 2011 | No CommentsThe good news today in technology is that Adobe Flash has ceased development for mobile devices. This is a huge announcement and achievement for technologies going forward using HTML 5. I guess one would say that Steve Jobs was the vampire slayer of Adobe Flash. Steve Jobs was the one who decided that Adobe Flash wasn’t good enough, was a reliable, had security problems and didn’t have the performance that was required for mobile devices. From there, Steve Jobs decided that Apple products would not support Adobe Flash. At the time, this was a revolutionary idea; it was very bold, but the writing was there on the wall, and while competitors took advantage of Apple‘s lack of support for Adobe Flash, they [Google] made it a absolute point to say that there devices supported Adobe Flash… Skipping to the current day, what Adobe is conceding at this point is that Adobe Flash isn’t intended for mobile devices; they’re simply too many problems for Adobe Flash to keep going in that direction. -
Movie Review: Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon
Posted on July 11, 2011 | 3 CommentsThe last [according to Shia]/latest Transformers movie was released and it’s going over like gang busters. The absence of Megan Fox didn’t even make a dent in sales, but I wasn’t surprised; she can’t act anyway. It’s all about the transforming robots and the explosions [that only Michael Bay can do]. The latest Transformers just seems to get it all wrong and right, at the same time. The most destructive part of this movie is the script and the director. For those fans of the Transformers legacy, the last two films are nothing more than crap built on the Hollywood garbage machine. They take a great series, huge back story and then start picking and twisting and skewing the whole thing in to some stupid love story; it’s not even funny. The whole basis behind the Transformers is Autobots vs. Decepticons [good vs. evil]; it’s never been about humans– maybe about protecting them, but not directly about them. -
Microsoft is making the mistake with WebGL that Apple made with Adobe Flash
Posted on June 17, 2011 | No CommentsMicrosoft has recently indicated that ‘basically’ they have no intentions of adopting WebGL for Internet Explorer. And I’m not able to help but think that they forget where they are… they’re on the downward slope of ‘…we need you’. I’m a fan of Mozilla Firefox, but it’s not to say that I’m oblivious to the speed and function of Google Chrome, and let’s not forget the blistering speed at which they’re releasing new versions of their browser; it’s just staggering. The rate at which Chrome is gaining popularity is more than any other browser. Not even Mozilla Firefox is able to keep up with Chrome. Internet Explorer market share is sliding and Mozilla Firefox is flat and Chrome adoption continues to grow. Microsoft has their head in the sand if they think they’re winning this race; or if they think their in this race. Microsoft is an icon of what NOT to do if you make a web browser. Microsoft‘s Internet Explorer was a main stay icon of a POS browser until Mozilla Firefox came on and decided to cut in to their market. Microsoft has copied EVERYTHING all the other browsers have been doing, are doing and will do,... -
Android Market: What Google Considers Right And Wrong
Posted on June 2, 2011 | No CommentsOver the past couple of months in watching the behavior of Google, it’s curious as to what Google considers morally correct behavior. Google has decided to punish the android users who have chosen to reboot their android devices. Just recently they decided to deny access for pay-per-view videos for those users who have modified their android devices; basically saying, if you have rooted your android device, you will not be able to watch pay-per-view videos from YouTube. But the android market is littered with applications that are specifically for android devices that are rooted. Google seems to making decisions based upon the severity, or the level of a security risk these applications can offer. Acting as a climatologist on Google, it’s hard to observe a company be so finicky about what is morally correct and what isn’t. The android operating system is supposed to be an open platform, but recently Google decided to tighten the noose on when and how the android operating system is released to the public. While Google is still offering the source code to developers, they are now deciding on the timeline and how the source code is provided.

![Crushing IPad- That’s what the Android operating system is doing. This holiday season advertisers are pushing everything and nothing seems to be more popular than tech and gadget items. And what’s absent from a lot of advertisements [from what I've observed] is the iPad. The iPad has been the staple standard for tablet PC’s for an over extended period of time, everything is compared to the iPad; it IS the de facto standard by which every tablet PC is measured. It’s always the same thing, here’s the new tablet PC; and here’s the same thing compared to the iPad. It’s a silly game… The Android market and the iOS market have thousands of games and applications; and evenly matched developers are as well. So the game isn’t what does the iPad have vs. the other; we’re talking specifications and hardware levels now. And if you are talking that, you are talking ‘losing side’ for the iPad.](http://www.lehsys.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/rmws5erb.jpg)

![Xbox Kinect addon: Nyko Zoom I have a Xbox and just like everyone else, I fight to have the proper amount of space to play Xbox Kinect games in confined spaces; until now. I have a friend of mine purchase a Nyko Zoom and try it out on his Xbox Kinect system and he’s reporting back it works like a charm. Reducing the amount of space players need to play games with Xbox Kinect by 40%, and it also gives you more side-to-side space as well because it uses special lenses [wide angle]; allowing players more space next to them to really get in to those big hay makers— hopefully when your boxing the crap out of someone else. The application of the special lense doesn’t seem to affect the game play of the Xbox Kinect and leaves everyone asking another question; why didn’t Microsoft think about this before they released the Xbox Kinect?](http://www.lehsys.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/2t3e3b04-115x115.jpg)
