Pirating Windows 7; nothing changes.

November 2nd, 2009

Windows 7 pirateIt’s no surprise that the pirating of Windows 7 is just so obsessive right now. Microsoft Vista was such a disastrous release. Microsoft release Vista thinking it would be the answer to XP and it was just the opposite.

I wouldn’t really buy a Windows 7 Key from EBay and I wouldn’t buy a copy Windows 7 before it’s release date. And Reuters is already reporting China has Windows 7 on the shelves for close to $3.

The problem that’s pointed out in that article is the same as the issue that’s here. Windows 7 is too damn expensive and if people can’t buy it; they are going to pirate it. Where’s there’s a need, there’s a supplier and where there’s a supplier… there are crooks and opportunists.

This is actually a compliment to Microsoft.

Ars Technica just posted a review of Windows 7 and it’s phrased pretty well. As ME was to XP and as Vista was to 7; it was a means to an end. Microsoft fat and happy was under pressure to put out something and they pushed out Vista; a piece of crap with more bugs than a bait shop and more trouble points than a burn victim on a bed of nails- it sucked.

But wait there’s the few out there that claim that it worked flawless for them. I call them the tiniest of majorities. because if you were a power user and used to getting stuff stuff done, you didn’t use Vista. Vista is the one off that some companies didn’t even want to develop for [some still haven’t]; they simply waited on the next version.

While Windows 7 is hailed as a success; it’s only that way because of the pains and complaints of early Vista users.

I don’t need to provide examples, the Google database is full of Vista hate websites.

My early experience with Windows 7 has been good. Performance is good, resource usage seems to be low and of course the new and improved desktop GUI.

It surprises me how impressed people are with a desktop makeover; it’s like it makes everything so much better and all of a sudden the world is all new. It’s not; it’s a Dodge Neon with a new body calling it a PT Cruiser. Same girl- different skirt. If the desktop is so important why doesn’t Microsoft allow a complete replacement for the desktop? because that would take away their ‘bling’ with each new version.

The other thing with Windows 7 that’s not so new, the damn hardware issues.

You can’t go from Windows XP to Windows 7 [but you can]; oh let’s torture those who decided to keep their sanity.

And from my experience, I had not one but two devices not work with Windows 7. One was a scanner, two was a webcam.

Now here’s the thing folks, I can understand things not working from Windows 98 or ME, but honestly, we’re going from XP to Windows 7 skipping a POS Operating System that Microsoft just cranked out to make some money after 10 years. You’d think that at the very least the Operating System would support devices that are fairly recent.

Hardware manufactures must love Microsoft for NOT supporting all these devices they sell. because Microsoft says they’re not going to support that ‘device’, the manufacturer says they’re not creating drivers for the new Operating System; your screwed out of x dollars. Now you need to go buy new hardware.
