Review: Zombieland – It’s good horror |
I went to go see Zombieland, and I’m NOT a horror movie buff, but I like Woody Harrelson and I like comedy/action, and if a few hundred zombies die in the process… it’s not really a horror movie.
Woody is not really the main character, which is kinda odd, but it’s okay. Jesse Eisenberg seems to be the main character…
The first five minutes of the movie had me laughing. It’s that kind of stupid humor you can really appreciate.
Zombieland starts off in the setting of post apocalyptic/Resident Evil; it’s day of the dead all the time in ZB land. It’s day in day out dead people and the survivors trying to stay that way.
The kill and death scenes are graphic; they’re just as good as any horror movie and watching these guys clean house is just as funny as can be. Think about a cocky redneck that’s really good at killing dead people and likes doing it. This is the basis of the fun.
You take a cowboy, a nerd, a hot chick and a street savvy little kid and you’ve got an interesting mixture of players. For me, the sadistic treatment of zombies is what really makes me laugh on this one.
This was a nice flicker show. It has a few moments of idle time, but they’re not that bad. I think they try to add some seriousness to it, which is out of place, but they go back to just having full out carnage fun and the movie is back on track.
God Bless Rednecks, Twinkies and heavy artillery.
It’s fun. Check it out.
Thanks,
