Adobe to 64-bit users: NO FLASH PLAYER FOR YOU!

October 8th, 2009

Adobe 64bit MissingYou’ve got to be kidding me. 64-bit machines have [not are] flooded the market. Everyone has witnessed the flood of 64-bit systems to the market and yet there’s no 64-bit FLASH player!

Nah, forget it Internet Explorer users I’m not even discussing Internet Explorer. Just about as far as anyone cares, that browser is dead. Even a person that missed passing his SAT’s by 2400 point knows NOT to use Internet Explorer.

So, let’s get back to browsers that matter and where the blazes is Adobe on this? It’s been months and still nothing. Adobe released a version of FLASH for Linux, and nothing against Linux; BUT ARE YOU SERIOUS?!

Quick, someone please, name the most popular Operating System on the planet! Duh, Windows. Why wouldn’t they address those users first? It’s like backward logic…

Is the ADOBE offices located in Crawford, TX or living right next door to GW Bush? Did I miss something when I learned about development and marketing to the masses?

Firefox and Chrome are probably the most talked about and popular browsers out there and while Firefox has a 64-bit version [Minefield], but you can’t fully use it, because it need a FLASH player.

Chrome has yet to provide a 64-bit version of their browser, although there is a workaround. And as lame as it is, Internet Explorer has a 64-bit browser. But as Internet Explorer security goes, you might as well have a wet paper bag in front of your face, in a hurricane for protection.

When is Adobe going to answer the 64-bit users with a proper answer and address the issue at hand; where’s our FLASH player?

For a company that has placed themselves at the top of the food chain, and has tried to make FLASH the ‘bomb’ of the Internet; just something you must have to browse- they sure are giving the ‘big green weenie’ to all those 64-bit users. Which, by the way,  is a heck of a lot of people.

The latest ADOBE release post says there’s going to be a release, but nothing about when… Big piece of info missing there.

Who has a 64-bit browser and wants a 64-bit FLASH player?

When are we  going to see a 64-bit version? I mean what idiot wouldn’t want to take advantage of all that extra processing power and memory. It just seems to be so odd that they would choose to be so obtuse about how they’re handling it.

Adobe customer support said back in JULY that they were working on it… Well, their still working on it. I’m really glad about now that ADOBE is not a health care provider. I wouldn’t want to die on the table waiting for a  heart made by ADOBE.

Thanks,
LHenryJr.

I'm with you on that but you have actually understated the Adobe's failure here.
They have been promising a 64-bit version of Flash for several YEARS not months (as you state).
Adobe's incompetence is only matched by their ignorance and disdain for Windows PC users.
I know a large corporation that would like to go 64-bit now, but they can't do it until 64-bit Flash arrives.

I'm actually of the mindset the 32-bit systems are the minority now and Adobe has ignored the market trends and hasn't released a 64 version of flash; it's stupidity.

I know exactly what your saying. I can't move to a 64-bit browser until I've a Flash compatible version, cause nothing works on the web without Flash.

Adobe Flash has such web penetration, but yet they're not supporting their own product, pushing it, causing this halt on progress.

    Thanks for your comments.
