LEHSYS Current Events – May 2009 |
The month of May has been an extremely good month for me in comparison to the last several months.
The purpose of the LEHSYS website is to share information and help others while being self-sustaining. The cost of maintaining the website is a little over $100 a year and I’ve no ideas of grandeur on making tons of money; I just want to pay for the website and make a little bonus somewhere. I enjoy sharing information with others…
My efforts in May were to try to gain more traffic to my website, but that’s actually a constant goal I would think.
Trends
The most popular Operating System reported my my site is Windows XP;second is Vista and Ubuntu is 4th on the list, which is nice to hear.
The number one browser is Firefox, at a great distance. Internet Explorer is the next in line. Surprising gains are noticed by Minefield; yea! 64-bit.
RSS feeds are up a great deal from last month and May seems to be rounding out with about 7000 page views up from 194 last month.
Hosting
In May my old host provider COOKIEHOST was all but disgusting in regards to performance. COOKIEHOST is a low budget hosting provider and the moral of that story is, ‘…you get what you pay for…’ For what ever reason, my website was down for 15+ hours [consistently] because COOKIEHOST couldn’t get their head of of their butt long enough to read the emails I was telling them; which was basically use the tape backup and restore website from a previous day earlier in the week. The result of my experience with COOKIEHOST was bad enough that I chose to move my website hosting immediately.
The Web posting that I decided to go to was GoDaddy. I already maintain my website’s domain with GoDaddy. So utilizing GoDaddy’s hosting services was almost a automatic choice.
Right now, I can report that the website is a little snappier and response times for posting are better. So all in all, everything is good right now.
Revenue
I’ve added Google Adsense to my website to try to draw revenue. the basics of using Google Adsense is that when visitors come to the website those are recorded as page views, when someone clicks on the ads that are placed onto your website those are recorded as advertisement clicks.
You receive payment for each page [but not until you have $100] you but it’s only a fraction as much as if someone actually clicks on the ads that are placed upon the website. So my goal at this time is to simply have people click on the ads on my website; I don’t want anyone buying anything or signing up for something that they don’t want- but just to have them click on the ad is enough.
By adding Google Adsense to my website and pushing the advertisement of my website through other venues the website seems to be able to produce four times as many page views as I had last month.
Articles
For all the people that visit my website and find something new or interesting; thanks for stopping by!

Thanks,
L. Henry Jr.
